First bandsawn boxes I’ve done, made for my 14 year old (cross) and 11 year old (owl) daughters for Christmas. The cross is 8/4 glued up mahogany and the owl is layered 4/4 purple heart and maple. Drawer pulls on the cross are purple heart and the eyes and beak on the owl are ebony. Not sure of the wing material, was in the cut-off bin, so I found some cool grain, resawed and bookmatched. The wings overhang the drawer slightly to keep the front of the box flush. Finish didn’t turn out as well as I would have liked.
