OK, iv had these doves that kept showing up for the past 3 years making a nest under my gutters.. last year we had a BAD wind storm and blew their nest off the gutter and the eggs were lost… so this year while we were remodling the kitchen (hints the huge mess in second photo) i had some scrap wood, and while i was taking a break I made them a simple and easy nesting box, and put it where it was out of the way and kinda weather proof. The two doves have returnd and have nested in it.. my elderly neighbor LOVES doves so i also made her one, took 10 seconds to make, but the birds love it…sometimes you just got to keep it simple :-)

thank you for the comments, and yes doves are a very special bird :-) ... i enjoy watching them and feeding them. the sounds that they make are very soothing.

I raise doves and love their peaceful sounds but they are the worst nest builders in the bird kingdom! They need all the help they can get. Ya done good here.
