Built in the late 1990’s. This simple book case is made from birch plywood with a solid birch face frame, base, and molding. The choice of materials and construction techniques allow for relatively quick construction.
I used half-lap joints on the face frame.
I made the molding by running the stock across the table saw blade diagonally and raising the blade 1/16” each pass. I never did putty the nail holes in the molding!
Through dovetail joints on the base add some visual interest.
