Made a radiator cover. I wanted it sturdy as a bench because people are ruining my metal ones by sitting on them. I used poplar wood. Connected the frame using pocket screws and wood glue. For the slats cut a rabbit and screwed into place. The cover is reinforced so there is no sag when sitting on it. Primed and painted with oil base to hold up to the heat. Used aluminum bubble wrap under the top and against the wall.

I pretty much copied someone else’s design that was found on this site but it was well worth it.

The only negative was the price for the poplar wood. I think the next ones I do will be made of pine that I will dry out and prime real well.
