Ok so hopefully those that are receiving this will not see it here as it is on the way to them…. That being said my sister and her husband love to have BBQs and parties. They are big into the Retro stuff and actually own a few large scale game machines.
I was trying to come up with an idea for Christmas and I thought of a condiment holder for them and also some of my sister’s favorite condiment, Heinz 57 in a glass bottle. Thanks to followyourheart for her blog on making a condiment tote. It was a big help to give me a simple place to start. I was able to find a font from Font-a-licious that had video game characters in it. Kind of like wing dings with video game characters. I also found 2 other fonts on fontspace.com that were old school video game fonts. I thought this would be great for the decor of the box. the 2 sides have Space Invaders on them as this is a game they own. and the front and back have custom messages with various characters. The handle is done up with the chef from Burgertime. All of the decor was ironed on as I have done before, the holder is pine and finished with spray on poly.

I had a lot of fun designing it once I found the fonts and also did some new techniques on my table saw that I have seen done before but never tried with my saw. A good project and learning experience.

Thanks all for looking.

Julie, It is a well deserved mention, thank you so much for posting your blog. I talked to my sister yesterday and they love it! My BIL was in the background shouting “its Awesome!” I am so happy they like it. They are looking forward to using it at all their BBQs in the coming year.
