my step daughter needed a new bed and told the wife no need to buy one, i’ll build it! got a little carried away, not sticking to the plan. even though i had no plan but to keep it simple. it’s three pieces, headboard, bottom casing, and top casing that holds the mattress. but still weighs about 600lbs. went with mdf for the price, and poplar for the trim. it was a good excuse though to get some new router bits, lots of routing! first time doing crackle paint too, not fun! stain was suppose to be grey, but the blue green thing ended up nice. then sprayed five coats of poly over everything. put four big drawers on the bottom, never enough storage! and pretty much used pocket hole jointery and glue on the mdf, and alot of it.

Beautifully done! I love the design and function of this set.

Super nice. That’s a great combination of color. Nice touches in the details.
