So we have been full force into scavenging wood – much more pending on that project later!

This little ornament is turned from splated maple and walnut. We knocked down a standing dead maple on Mike’s property and are getting ready to take it to the mill soon along with dozens of other tree’s we’ve been scouting. Mike decided to do a test turning and made this ornament contrasting the maple with some walnut.

A small unique little project – simple, elegant, and personal as a gift he made for a friend.

This summer there should be a bunch of spalted maple projects coming. We have Mike’s tree which is a good 30” diameter about 30ft long trunk, and two other large sections we’re taking off a friend’s tree service. We have walnut, cherry, more osage, mulberry, and a mix of other random tree’s coming in from storm falls.

THIS is just a preview!

Wow, bet not having material is driving you nuts! Sounds like the motherload. Look forward to seeing you in action! LOL! Happy New Year!
