Got a drill press for Christmas! The new addition required two projects, lucky me. I needed somewhere to put it, so I built the stand from left over 2×4’s and a scrap piece of 3/4 MDF. Went to the Big Box store with my gift certificate from the mother in-law and bought some carriage bolts to hold it together, total cost to me $0.00! I also bought 1/4 & 3/4 2×2 ply sheets and a few nuts and bolts to build the table. I chose the “Steve Ramsey” table. It was a breeze, except for the fact that I bought 3 1/2” commode bolts and made a 4” fence! Again all on the gift certificate, so I have the stand and table with no cost to me!

Nice drill press table and nice MIL for giving you the gift card.
This ‘tool’ will serve you well as long as it stays dead flat.
I had to add a cleat under mine after it sagged.

Grumpy, it should stay flat. 3/4 plywood with 1/4 plywood on top of that. It is 12×24 sitting on a 6×6 1/2 metal base.
