I asked my Son what Ii could build for his wife for Christmas. A few days later he told me a coat and shoe rack for behind the front door. This is what I came up with. She was very pleased.

I turned all the pegs. This was the first time I have ever tried to turn more than one of something to look the same. Not that easy when you got a wondering mind like mine. I usually have no idea what my turnings will look like till I get into the turning and they just seem to develop themselves.

I made it from pine and the pegs are oak. My wife used a dark stain but I can’t remember the name as we had never used this color before. She then covered with a couple of covers of water based polyurethane.

Nice job, I’ll bet you got some extra huggs for this. You turned the pegs?? I get mine at the WW store for a few cents. I envy you and your lathe.

Great design! Like the color which matches the sofa and most of all its functionality.

Thanks for the comments guys. Grumpy I did get a big ole hug for sure. She was very pleased.

A added bonus is the two cuts out will be the makings of a wall shelf soon.
