Practice bowl

This is more or less a practice bowl. I had a piece of cherry that had some cracks in it. I used it to turn this bowl anyway. It is the first bowl I have put any kind of finish on. I used Capt Eddie’s shine juice and it turned out pretty good I think.

Jim the reason I called it practice is cause the blank had numerous small cracks in it and I turned it for mostly practice nor expecting it to be any good. It turned out better than I expected so I mixed up some of Capt Eddie’s shine juice to see what it would look like as this is the first bowl out of all that I have turned that I put a finish on. I may go back and remount some of my others and put this finish on them.

Since I have gotten my new lathe I have began to seriously try to get into more turning. Like some have said it becomes addictive.

Thanks again for the comments. I just like to turn. I am slowly getting some new tools to werk with. I am werking with a set of Craftsman tools I got in the 80’s when I bought my first Craftsman tube lathe which I just replace.

Just having fun.
