My very first project that I have worked on completely by myself. The chest is based of a viking tool chest.. the original had slopped sides and a through mortice tenon joint to hold the bottom of the chest in. As this was my first real try at making saw dust by myself I made the sides straight not slanted and used screws to attach the bottom… I am still trying to figure out what tye of hinges I would like to use on this project.

I think you need some black iron gate hinges to make it look authentic.

I agree with Charlie’s suggestion. I think that would look nice. By the way this is a nice project. Pine can be a pretty wood to use in a project.

This one looks good and the construction appears to be solid.

Man you got to use Viking hinges. LOL. Very nice work for a first try, keep up the good work, try something in this century, LOL, sorry for the jokes, good job though. mike

I feel your pain man when i first started to make boxes I did not know what to use either. I have this great page for you tho. If you want to stick to the Noris personia then you need to check this out.

LOL mike… I have some ideas for stuff this century but the viking stuff is up first

Rustic … ya know I have been to the viking answer lady for everything else… not sure why I didn’t think of the site for this…. thanks my friend.
