Six board/Viking chest

Project by Hrolfr posted 557 days ago 418 views 0 times favorited 6 comments Add to Favorites Watch

My very first project that I have worked on completely by myself. The chest is based of a viking tool chest.. the original had slopped sides and a through mortice tenon joint to hold the bottom of the chest in. As this was my first real try at making saw dust by myself I made the sides straight not slanted and used screws to attach the bottom… I am still trying to figure out what tye of hinges I would like to use on this project.

I think you need some black iron gate hinges to make it look authentic.

I agree with Charlie’s suggestion. I think that would look nice. By the way this is a nice project. Pine can be a pretty wood to use in a project.

This one looks good and the construction appears to be solid.

Thanks for the post.
