This is my first bandsaw box and now Christmas is over the secret can be revealed.
It’s a present for my Grandaughter Sarah, hench the ‘S’ shape. The two drawers have rare earth magnets embedded at right angles to others in the main body of the ‘S” this gives the magic effect of keeping the drawers in line with the face as they are closed.
The wood is Australian cedar, an excellent wood for this sort of job.
Two bandsaw boxes were cut out of the one piece of wood so that the grain lines up throughout.
Finished with about 11 coats of wipe on poly.
Thanks for looking.

Tony: A beautiful box. How did you ever think of making an “S”

Nice job Grandpa.

Thanks Jocks
Karson, the ‘S’ part was simple. I just used a font from a word package like MS Word and blue it up to scale then traced it on to the wood.

A fine job there Tony. A project like that really deserved a photo-tutorial.

“S” tunning band saw box! Like the shape and the finish. Brilliant idea with the magnets.
