I loved my Dust Deputy cyclone, but hated having the bucket tip over 5 or 6 times every time I used it to clean up the shop. I used the plans presented by the Woodsmith shop. The link to the plans is here. http://www.woodsmithshop.com/download/609/shop-vacuum.pdf It’s made entirely of 3/4” plywood and I think the only modifications to the plans I made were to make the shop vac section 2” wider and longer and to make some of the hose pass-through holes larger to pass 2.5” hose.

I would like to buy a dust deputy, I will probably make the purchase soon. I like the cart and will probably do something similar when I get mine.

Ordering my DD today as my Xmas present was a new shop vac! Many thanks for thinking of me and posting this great little cart! LOL

I love my dust deputy! I have cleaned my shop vac filter maybe 2 times in the past 6 months and that’s only because I didn’t keep an eye on the dust level in the bucket and let it overflow to the shop vac. If I don’t let it get too full then I think I would only have to clean it once a year. I had the same problem with the irritation of pulling the shop vac, then moving the deputy seperately after it fell over a few times and spilled it’s contents…pretty aggrivating lol. I really wanted to make this one but didn’t have the plans and was fed up so I made my own. I enclosed the shop vac so it’s a little bigger but still works well. I also got som of the clear stretchy dust hose that goes to like 20ft so that helps alot too. I will post pics soon! I really like the compact design of yours!

Have your say...
