I came across these pictures of the pantry cabinet that I built for my wife about ten years ago or so. It replaced an old built in that was in the house when we bought it. There were a few such built ins and we could not get them out without dismantling them completely.
This is made entirely of poplar and mdf, frame and drawers are poplar and all the panels are mdf. Needless to say this thing is really heavy and it was made in two pieces, upper and lower. I cannot find the construction photos of the upper but put a few on of the lower section.
There are two pull out shelves in the lower section and three drawers, two doors and fixed shelves in the upper. Homemade molding trims out the top.

I brushed the panel edges prior to assembly on the first dark coat and then sprayed the rest. Rubbed after the last coat to give it a distressed look then applied clear coat.
