The closet started out as a 1963 era bypass doors with 2 shelves and 1 long closet rod.
I had an idea of creating half of the closet as an armoire. I removed 1 of the bypass doors and built the armoire as shown. The other half of the closet contains 2 clothes rods and the original top shelf.
The armoire consists of 3 large drawers and shelves behind doors. Constructed of oak, frame and panel doors and drawer fronts with mitered corners.

our house is in such desperate need of work in the closets. I’m going to have to “borrow” some of your ideas!
I like the idea of the built in armoire, that’s pretty cool.
thanks for sharing.

Wow – I like that – especially the idea of keeping it out front by removing the one door – thinking outside the box.

What a great idea! – You did a great job, (so good infact …that I am hiding the screen from my wife as I type!)

Very nice idea! If we didn’t already have closet organizers that would be something to think about doing.
