This is Tamboti, which I have never used before… but oh boy! I could use it every day, it was one of the best woods I’ve ever worked with. So hard and waxy and gorgeous grain omg.

It is 6” tall, 3” wide and 2” thick (when I started).. the carving is about an inch thick, a little less.

This was made for my shop and not for a particular customer. Gearing up for Valentine’s day and romantic things. I’m pretty in love with it.

It’s beautiful. You did a magnificent job on the sculpting/carving of this.

Lis Tambotie is a lovely wood to work with but has side effects the dust can cause a skin irritation and a really bad dose of diarrhea. A bowl made out of tambotie is not suitable for any food stuff. The smoke from the wood when burnt will give you a mother of a headache and the runs. A drop of the latex from a broken off leaf applied to a aching tooth with a hole in will deaden the pain as well as kill the nerve. The pain experienced when applied is some thing to write home about, horrendous Regards Tambotie

Lovely carving
