Needed to put something together to keep my ‘pocket junk’ in one place to avoid that made morning rush trying to find my wallet so did a few sketches and came up with this idea.
The wood is a local Thai species Mai Padoo which I have found to be a great finishing wood with beautiful color and grain. I made an effort to do some bookend matches for the top.
The angles are 10 and 30 degrees and assembly was with Dmax and also used exposed dowels as accents. The finish is a teak oil wipe topped with several spray coats of polyurethane.

This is a very unique and interesting box. It is well designed and quite useful as well. The small side drawers are a nice touch.
Thanks for the post.
