A shagbark hickory fell in our woods. It was partly hollow, so I saved a couple chunks and made side tables. Beetles got under the bark and their larvae left lots of trails. No finish; just an oil stain. Circle of glass set in the top. 18” tall

This is truley a unique piece, a decorators dream for sure.

You did this well. Love the look and the bare bones finish. Great job.

I’ve got shag bark hickory nuts in the freezer (ummmmmm) from the trees around my house. So sweet a nut but a tedious harvesting job!
