Hey everyone,
This box took me a few weeks to build. I had the idea to do something with a carried or suspended/elevated box.
I got some cherry from Andrius and wanted to use that.
This one occured by accident for alot of parts, I cut some things shorter then i wanted, but somehow end up with something i’m still happy with.
It’s build from different scrap hardwoods, walnut, cherry, and oak.
I used a dremel, tablesaw chisels for the details.
Finished with tung oil and sanded with 400 grid.
It doesn’t show on the pics but the lid’s sink in.
I really enjoy building these boxes, and lumberjocks is a great source for inspiration and motivation to keep building boxes :)
Here are some more pics and construction pics, Thanks for watching!

Impression: Well executed, and crafted. Reminds me of a puzzel? It has craftsman build feel? Nice integration of wood tones. Have not seen this before.

Very nice & very unique. I cannot remember seeing a box with so many different pieces used in its construction.

That is so cool. You have a great mind to come up with these original designs. It looks beautiful with the contrasting species. It makes me think of a Transformer (the movie).

Very interesting architecture. It’s kinda random, but I’m reminded of the map chamber in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Kinda has lines like an ancient Egyptian temple.

I’d be willing to bet that no-one ever copies that box. I counted fifty four pieces and lost track … (really I just can’t count any higher than that) A very intricate piece of work. ... And this was a weekend project??

That’s got to be the most complicated box I’ve ever seen. Very cool.
