My 2011 Summer Project was this Arbor & Pergola. The goal was to build something that would cover the roof line of the house below and allow us to enjoy the beautiful view of the farmland below. Future plans are to grow Clematis along the lattice and hopefully add some greenery to further hide the house below.

The project was made entirely from Western Cedar, which included reclaimed old growth cedar and old growth cedar siding from a torn down house. It was stained with Cetol for UV protection and added color.

I have this habbit of looking at the pics before reading the post. I like to figure out what the woodworkers was using, attempting, type of wood ect.

First thing I noticed was that this created so much more visual interest and took away from looking at the other houses and allowing you to enjoy the other view. With that said you nailed it. A real beauty! Great work.

Beautiful and a great design. I believe you accomplished exactly what you set out to do. From the scenic photo, I would never have guessed you are right here in Cleveland. Great job.

Looks great! I like your lanterns as well. I thought I was the only one that made those.
