Just added another one of my recently finished boxes to my Etsy Store. Thought that I’d post it here as well to share with you all. When I first bought the board that I made this box with, it had some of the most vivid purple and violet banding in it that I had ever seen in a piece of poplar. It had been sitting in my shop since early summer and has since turned more brownish and gray than when I first got it.

The box turned out pretty neat though I think. I didn’t use the more expensive Brusso hinges on this one but they serve the purpose.

I love old poplar trees. I get some great colors from them.

Absolutely beautiful box.

-- Nature created it, I just assemble it.

Very nice. Love the grain in the wood.

I like using mineral stained poplar. You got some nice pieces. And you did a nice job on the box.

Nice! We don’t see much poplar in my area and what I do find seems to have a greenish color (not real attractive).
