I have been wanting to carve a Santa face in an egg ever since I seen one for the first time. So, here is my attempt at it. I still have to work on the painting thing… I struggle in this area. The other picture are a few more Millard Harrell style Santas. Thanks for looking.

Jim – They are basswood eggs. I bought a dozen at the woodcarving show in november to work on right away. I usually turn them on the lathe but at $10/doz I bought a bag of them to save some time.
