Porky is made out of walnut and white oak. When he was first glued up he was going to be just one of my regular cutting boards, but I got bored with those so decided to give the pig a try. Porky is 22” from head to tail and almost 11” tall. He’s 1 1/4 inches thick and is finished with Howard’s Butcher Block Conditioner.

You know how long it takes me to cut out this same basic shaped pig with my sabre saw??? Your MACHINE prolly does it in MINUTES!!!
I’m still new here, so I’ve never said this, but I feel I MUSt say it now.

Larry, yes it was done on the CNC, see the other photos. And Joe, yeah I do suck..:) It actually takes the machine about 15 minutes to cut this. I turn the speed down because I don’t want want to stress the blade or heat it up. Since this is 1 1/4” thick the CNC actually makes six passes around it to cut all the way through. I could probably speed it up and cut faster, but I don’t need to go any faster.
