This is my version of the Wood Working for Mere Mortals woodworking mallet. The head is made out of Oak and the handle is made from Birch. This was the first project that I got to use my drill press on and it was my first time making a tenon.

Nice mallet. I like the addition of the lead shot. Is it loose to act as a dead blow of epoxied in for a solid thump?

Thanks everybody. I actually filled it with BBs and I left them loose to act as more of a dead blow. It never occured to me to epoxy them together. I may have to try that on the next one!

Leave it like the dead blow, I made one with solid lead and don’t really like it as well as the one filled with loose shot.
nice build, you will use it for years to come … If we make it past Dec. 21 …
