Early in 2012, a woman in Australia found my woodworking web site. She asked me to build one big wood padlock and two smaller padlocks to use in her wedding ceremony. She called it their “locking ceremony”. At the time, I did not understand why she needed 3 locks.
I used Tim Detweiler’s design for the large wood padlock. I then modified the design to make the smaller versions of locks. I shipped them to Australia.
A few weeks ago, she emailed me photos showing how they used my 3 wood locks in her wedding ceremony. The pictures are shown above. Now I understand why she needed 3 locks versus just one for the wedding ceremony.
It is pretty neat that the 3 wood locks were made in my workshop in Central Illinois, used in an Australian wedding ceremony, and my locks keys were flown away with helium balloons!
