This was a fun little guy to make from scraps. The tummy is a pool ball, chosen for the color. The body is made from a scrap piece of oak. It is 3/4 inch thickness. The pool ball is a standard 2 1/4-inch size and the hole is 2 3/8-inches. The feet are one-inch maple dowel caps. I filled the dowel caps with a bit of scrap using a plug cutter. Then I drilled a 1/4-inch hole in each wheel and fitted an axle. As the dinosaur rolls across the floor, the pool ball rotates. The pool ball will not fall out of the dinosaur’s body. I have seen this idea for a rolling ball center in a push toy, so it is not original with me. I did draw the body of the dinosaur. It is painted with gloss enamel.
