Luthier Clamps

I forget where I got the idea from to make these clamps. It may have been a youtube video. I have seen several woodworkers make them however, and I decided to make some for myself. These are made from reclaimed oak pallet wood. These are pretty easy to make and if you are like me, you never have enough clamps. I added cork to the jaws to keep the clamps from marking the wood.

Thanks for looking and I wish all my fellow Lumberjocks a very Merry Christmas!!

They look Osome Lee! I need to make a few of those for my shop too, your right about not having enough clamp!
These look so easy to use too. Just snug them up to your work and rotate the offset! Nice! Thanks for sharing!
And Merry Christmas to you and yours! :)

Matthew, these aren’t as strong as commercial bar clamps, I use them to keep joints tight as the glue dries. I have not measured how much pressure they produce.

Leonard5 here is a rough drawing of the clamp. The head and jaw consist of three pieces. The thickness of the center piece will depend on the thickness of the bar. Hope this is enough information to get you started.
