Several months ago I refurbished a number of hand planes (Stanley #5, Stanley #4 and Stanley #3) but I did not have any place to put them in my small but tightly packed workshop.

I’m not planning to start my next bigger project until after the holidays so I have some time to putter around in my workshop on a number of smaller projects. Between the mitre saw and the drill press there is a small bit of underutilized wall space, that looked like a good place for a plane till.

I checked a number of LJs postings and got some good ideas for a plane till. I rummaged through my walnut scraps and used an old TV table top that I’ve had in my shop for the last year to make this plane till. I used some rare earth magnets to help hold the planes in place. Now I have an accessible place for these planes.

Peter, the till looks great! Those fine planes need a better location that in the wye of your dust collection system, though. :-)

Congrats on a fine build!
