Santa Ornaments - First attempt at wood carving

Merry Christamas!

I have never done any carving until now, I saw a you tube video on a 5 minute wizzard that inspired these little guys. I have carved several out of a 3/4” X 3/4” piece of poplar however the 1” X 1” bass wood is certainly the wood of choice for carving and I can see why.
