I made this sled for my 14 month granddaughter out of red oak and sprayed with an outdoor poly . The plans I found in a 1990 Popular Mechanics magizine. The pad I ordered from LL Bean. I’m sure she’ll get lots of use out of it, as long as we get snow.

Very nice! I bet she will love it.

Grandpa rocks! Such a nice job on this. She will have so much fun for yrs to come. Did you put any type of metal on the bottom of the runners?

I am in the beginnings of building this same sled for my grandson. The only problem is that I live in Atlanta, Ga, so he may have to sled on grits.

No snow here, but a beautiful sled.

Thanks for the nice comments and I didn’t put metal on the runners yet. I thought I’d try slick tape first so she could sit on it in the house. If that won’t stay I’ll go to an aluminum strip.
