Randy,
Nice work.. I have been considering a version of this for my Patio. Just a couple of questions though:
What did you build it of?
Also, it’s free standing (not connected to the house) correct?

Chris,
Everything is standard PT stock. 4×6 for posts, with 2×6 crossbeams. We topped it off with a second string or ripped 2×4s for additional shading.
Right, not attached. We left about 1 inch clear of the roofline and facia board.

This is a nice addition to your home. I am sure that you were tired if you completed it in one day. That is a lot of work. But the construction looks solid and I like your design.
