Angel & Christmas Tree

I have really been having fun with my new Powermatic lathe. The angel started out bigger and was suppose to be a snowman. After a few mistakes with the skew (should be named scourge) it ended up as the angel. My Mom likes angels so it goes to her.

The Christmas tree was just a fun thing. I drilled a hole in a piece of popular for the base.

Last Sunday I spent all day watching videos of Capt Eddie, Steve Martin and several others turn ornaments. It gave me the courage to try to get them small and thin. One guy said it was addictive and I believe him.

So far most of my ornaments have been made from the half of a cedar tree that fell on my house a few years back. One was made of cherry.

I like them both, but I really like the tree.

Thanks for the comments. I have been having fun with what I have learned to do this week.
