This is a bed that I built a couple years ago. It is made of poplar , I used mortise and tenion joints , finished with a combo of stain and black paint finsihed off with hand rubbed poly. The head board is 60” tall.

Poplar??? That is a great finishing job and the design is well done! Nice work… Welcome to LJ.

Side note: I have to say that I love your “scrap” bin in the back of the picture. I totally feel better about my obsession of holding on to all shapes and sizes of “scraps”. You never know when you will need one of them!!!

Looks great. I would not have guess poplar is in those panels. Really nice job/design.
