I sold the other Chechen Box to a gentleman in Canada. He went ahead and commissioned this piece at the same time. I am extremely happy with how this box turned out.

Thanks for taking a look.

Joey…it looks great…! The box elder reminds me of strawberry swirl ice cream with a few specs of chocolate chips.

Great box and an amazing wood combo. Your finish continues to amaze. Greg is right, that does look just like strawberry swirl ice cream. I gotta try Polycrylic again (gloss, semi,or satin?)

Thanks everyone. I used the Box Elder because of a initial miss communication with my client. When I read the email I thought that he said he didn’t want the curly maple like I did on the other Chechen box that he bought. So I suggested Box Elder, because it would look like the blood left on the cross after the crucifixion. He like the idea so I rolled with it. I don’t think I could have made a better choice, and I am glad that our little miss communication worked out as well as it did. That is not always the case.

Andy, this box is gloss, but I usually keep a can of satin around. Sometimes things don’t have to be shiny… right????

Did somebody say strawberry ice cream? I would love some. LOL

Thanks a bunch guys. I hope you all have a wonder holiday season.

My client just told me that he is going to tell the person that he got it for that the beetle holes are from the crown of thorns. I love how the meanings on a piece of art keep getting deeper and deeper.
