I built this cabinet to match the cabinets I had previously renovated in our basement kitchen. My wife wanted an additional base cabinet on casters with a hinged top that could be opened to make a larger server top. Simple painted base cabinet on casters. The countertop is 5/4” cherry with a beveled edge, with a poly/oil finish. I used folding shelf hardware for the hinged top on each side. The brackets work real smooth with a lever release and can hold quite a bit of weight.

This is really nice. Like Jim stated, I’ll bet your wife really likes it.
