I want to know what name has this type of wood.
When I work this wood, dust irritates me the nostrils
of the nose and makes me sneeze. Thanks to all of you.

Looks very similar to the Indian Laurel I use for segmented bowls.

Can’t tell by your pics…..too far away from wood. Cedar sometimes irritates the lungs but it doesn’t look like cedar.

By the color and grain pattern, it looks like walnut. I use it a lot and don’t sneeze from it. I think I’ve developed an immunity!!..............Jim

What is that you’re making out of it?

Posted in the wrong section but that’s okay for now. Looks like black walnut to me. But as others have said the pics aren’t good enough to really tell.

I agree on Walnut…I have a love/hate relationship with walnut…I love th way it looks, hate the way it smells and what it does to my nose. Not only does it make me sneeze, if I don’t wear a respirator it burns like hell too.

To make the piece of wood larger, go to the tools in the upper right hand corner and you can enlarge the picture to 400% and get a pretty good look of the wood.
