A lady at work recently built a new house. The kids rooms were much larger and she asked me to make a toy box for each of them. They are mostly poplar (since she wanted them painte), but have several pieces of red oak, also, since I had quite a bit on hand. This was my first attempt with the panel and M&T joinery. It was an experience. I am glad I got to learn it on someone else’s dime…haha.
I am not crazy about how the backs look…but, I couldn’t find a plan that would work. So, I was basically just designing as I went. After I saw the back, I was pretty upset, but it was already glued up…lesson learned.
I lost the pictures of the build. The last picture was from the lady at work after she got them in their rooms.
Thanks for looking
Chris

Very nice. Everything you build helps you improve so the next one you build will be perfect. What are the dimensions?

I am hoping that would be the case…haha.
The “box” area is 48” long, 22” wide and about 18” high/deep. Total height is about 36”.

We try to improve on every project we make. If we don’t we shouldn’t be doing this.
Good job.

Not bad for the first time, they look great sitting in the rooms. Good job Chris!

I’ve been looking for one for my friends
