My father-in-law gave me a spare piece of laminated beech kitchen worktop, and told me to ‘make something nice with it’. So I made this :)

I found a circular piece of black walnut at the shop, and used it as a router template. I’m fairly happy with the result (the photos are quite flattering – plenty of errors and imperfections are visible when you’re actually holding it).

The finishing process went through several stages, but ended up being sanding sealer and acrylic lacquer.

Nice tray. Just looks like something I would like to use.
