My attempt at creating a Log Cabin bird house, which ominously led to a war with squirrels.

The gray stuff between the “logs” is liquid nail. Figured it would give it a more realistic look. The roofing was made from strips of bark off of a large vine I found growing in the woods. Might have poison ivy, luckily I must have been immune.

Very cool. It does look authentic. Might check on the poison ivy thing, but these would definitely be marketable. Different looking birdhouses always sell!

Looks like good technique for construction.

Thank you! Honestly, I can’t figure out what kind of wood this vine is but it has some amazing features to it. I’m hoping to do a another project soon using the actual wood from the vine aside from the bark. Thanks for stopping bye.

Reminds me of Grizzly Adams…... very natural look. That vine wouldn’t be wild grape, would it? Hard to tell from the photos but looks a bit ‘scaly’ like grapevine.

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)
