I’ll start by saying sorry for the horrible pictures. I am a woodworker not a photographer. LOL
This unit is the first of a bedroom suite I had commissioned. It’s made with maple cover in black lacquer. I used sycamore for the dovetail drawers. I still have a dresser, 2 night stands and the bed to go so stay tuned.

looks like a great job well done, i like the dovetails being seen and not covered with the lacquer…i guess different strokes for different folks…it kills me to cover natural wood…but you did a good job and im sure they will be happy with your work…

That’s really slick looking. Beautiful.

Thanks Grizz. I also like natural woods. But what can you do? I don’t mind it so much on this kind of thing. I get a batch of maple save the pretty boards and use the ugly ones for furniture. Of coarse, making boxes it’s kind of hard to find a ugly board.
Monte, are you on facebook? You should join and then you get to see my stuff as it’s being made.

Very nice Joey…Looks like you have been staying really busy….with the new boxes (which are Outstanding) and this chest of drawers….I see you changed your picture…Can’t make out what it is I’m looking at…I think I see part of a pine tree?? What kind of lacquer did you use—-spray on—-mix your own??? how many coats and all that stuff….Bob

Thanks everyone.
I am staying very busy. My new avatar is a picture of a couple of my Angelfish. Here is the regular sized picture. The picture was taken during the day with the lights on, but for some reason my camera made it look like night. Don’t know why, but this time it worked out great. Wish the pictures of the chest of drawers had turned out this nicely. LOL

Joey, avatar? I’ll wait until it changes again. I like the dresser. It is beautiful craftsmanship; I hope the money is good, but I’ll stick to my boxes. Your fish are beautiful. The avatar…not so much. Once you finish the bedroom suite…keep boxing and keep posting. Thanks for sharing another of your creative adventures.

Thank everyone. My client was extremely happy and is ready for me to get the next piece done. I already have the faceframe and drawer fronts built, I did it with these, so it should be a pretty smooth process. I’ll post pics up as I finish.
Remember, if you want a early look at the build, you can join me on facebook.

Looks amazing, very nice work.A chest of drawers is one of the most functional utilities for use in any room.Amongst the most common pieces of furniture in the home is that of a chest of drawers, with just about every bedroom in each household containing one.
Have your say...
