My first attempt at a horse. Very happy with the results! This was hard for me trying to get the legs into proportion. I was planning on keeping it nature, but had to beef up the shoulders with putty. The horse is hand carved out of pine and then took a piece of scrap pine and sanded to 400 grit for the base. Attached the two with epoxy. Finished in acrylic paints and covered in poly.

Proportions are one of the toughest parts of carving. I see you put some muscle tone in. That’s also a very tough thing to get right. You’ve taken giant steps in the right direction.

Nice job. That’s pretty incredible.
