First Project. Wife wanted a knitting cabinent, couldn’t find a plan so I made one as my first real woodworking project. Its just cabinent grade ply with popular frame and drawers. No dovetails or anything fancy yet. I did the top in ply with an oak boarder attached with biscuits. I learned a lot from this project…such as how hard it is to get a good satin black finish.

Came out very nice. I like the contrast between the black and natural wood on top.

Nice looking cabinet. Very tastefully built.

The cabinet came out very nice. The shoe cabinet by the garage door looks equally tasteful.

I have some similar baskets I’ve been keeping for a project like this. I drew up my plans a couple of months ago, but I haven’t started building it yet. Nice job.
