How many times have you said man I wish I had a jig for this? Well for me it was way too many so I put myself to the task of coming up with something that would work in my limited workspace.
While my jig works for me it is far from the ultimate jig. I used a simple design, but adapted it be set into my tablesaw track and used a simple friction cam to lock in to opposite end (see picture #2) The swing arm has a holder to keep it place when moving from where I store it to the tablesaw. I have no desire to have my fingers pinched and this was a simple way to insure that remains true. Nothing spectacular in the assembly I used basic parts I already had to make this little wonder. I opted for paint as I prefer the brighter color for contrast to my work and if I spill something, well I can always wipe it off or just repaint. Having used it quite a bit lately making drawers my only drawback is the fixture used to clamp the boards. I am sure I could have found something that had clamps that are easier to use but noticed most had rather large arms and I wanted to keep the overall size down to a minimum. For me it works, hopefully this inspires you.
