So I see all of you guys making pens for Christmas gifts and had to join the club. I’ve only found these bolt action kits at PSI and thought they would be neat to make. I used deer antler and texas mesquite for these two. I’ve made a few pens in the past and these are very addicting once you get started. I plan on ordering a few of the laser cut kits next for more gifts for friends. I know some folks are selling these for profit but don’t think there is much profit margin with the cost of some of these fancy kits. I could be wrong.
So anyone looking who hasn’t tried making pens yet…..beware you won’t be able to stop at just one..ha. Enjoy.

Nice work. You would be surprised. I sell at 30 minimum and I am not one to be beaten down on the price. Many times I have heard that comment about that is too much and smiled, then closed my pen case and left. When they happen to track me down again they know pay my price or don’t bother. The rifle pens I made early this summer both went for 75 and neither customer blinked about the price. I will say that to my surprise it is NOT the classy dressed businessman that buys without haggling the price. Most of the people that have bought from me are working class folks that see a pen, understand it is handmade and the value of such a commodity. Also, you cannot buy such a pen in the store so if you are looking for original this is as good as it gets. Great for gifts for any occassion and if you make a few extra you always have a gift ready if you get in a jam.

Michael, thanks for the feedback. My real boss, not the wife, always tells me I am the worst businessman because I worry to much about what people think when I give them a price for something. I always forget to add in the cost of labor…...duh.
