So I have been slaving away in the “wood shop” also known as a garage making Christmas presents. My wife came in and saw the project I was working on for her. It is an all Walnut box with an oak acorn inlay on the lid and acorn feet. She saw it about halfway through and loved it…... So surprised ruined!

I finished it and gave it to her early.. So I am back in the “wood shop” working on yet another surprise.

The good news is she loved it! And, the good news is you get to continue playing in your shop. And, the bad news is . . . .??? Looks like a win, win to me.

Very nice project. I can see why your wife loved it.

Nick that is a nice wee box.

The secret is to have two projects.

One for her to find, it’s good for them and one

that has the various parts hidden until final assembly.

That does not always work either :)

Neat. I was looking at the top and it could be a great place to place a badge for a retiring officer. Of course you would need to make it into a shield. Thanks for the post.

I found a necklace and earrings set with an acorn that I purchased. It would look lovely in that box. To bad my husband isn’t a woodworker like I am. Oh well. It’s quite lovely anyway.

That’s why women aren’t allowed into my shop!!! Way too nosy.
I favorited this box because of it’s creative shape… really nice.
