Project Information

I have discovered Cherry… What a great wood to work with! I have been making Christmas presents for the last 6 weeks and I have not been able to post my work because it might ruin Santa's surprise… :)

But in this case I can post. I was making this for me niece and when I finished my wife said that is beautiful! very masculine…. :(

So I am now working on something a little more girlie for my niece.

I had lots of fun making this using almost all my tools.. Table saw, chop saw, router, bandsaw, sander, clamps….. AWESOME..

It is a free hand (no plans - seat of the pants) project.

I like it.. it uses Cherry, Oak and Aromatic Cedar…

Nice looking. I don't think it's too masculine.

Nice box!

Just put a Disney Princess sticker on the top and it will be perfect for a little girl. ;-)

Truthfully, I think a girl would love this box.

Nice job Nick.
Now you have a nice box, and you get a chance to make another for your niece.
Smart move… :)

Nick, This is a nicely built box. Good work. I liked your coin banks on your projects page. This is a little zen, but having no plan is a plan. I always think of cherry wood as being feminine. Just how do you plan to make your new creation look feminine? Here is a hinge technique you might try…just a thought. Keep boxing and keep posting.
