This lidded bowl is made from Southern Magnolia and Walnut. It measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and 6 inches high. It has a lacquer and wax finish.

That looks like a dense and fine-grained wood. Beautiful design and finish. Nicely done!

great looking turning. is the magnolia easy to turn? it looks as though it producees a very smooth finish.

Doordude, the Magnolia was quite nice to turn. I didn’t have any problems with it. That’s my “Hershey’s Kiss” finial.
