I am running low on scraps of wood….maybe I need to make another maple kitchen table?
The first set of maple boxes I have scroll sawn figures into the lip and backed the lid with cherry stained maple for a nice fit. Also I used scxapes of 1/8” walnut for keys. Second photo are some potpourri boxes from WOOD magizine pattern…great gifts for family. Third and fourth photo is maple boxes I notched like really large finger joints, then locked with 1/8” dowels…letting them proud 1/8”....did same for the lid only used bridle joint and same dowel only planed flush. My mother made the counted cross stich panels which are 6 inch squares. Thanks Mom.

they all look great, but the fact you could incorporate your mother’s cross stitch panels with your own work is something you will be able to cherish for years.

thanks for sharing.

Very creative! Better than some plastic boxes you can buy in store.
