Solid walnut cutting board with curved ends and handles. This board is 1 1/8” thick and 24” wide. I put little rubber legs on it to keep it up off the counter. 1 1/8” sounds like an odd thickness and it is, it was supposed to be almost 1 1/2” thick. I had it on the CNC machine to cut the curves, and my CNC machine did what it does every once in a while and it screwed up the X axis and carved a nice half inch wide grove down the center of the board for me that was about a 1/4” deep. You notice I’m blaming the machine and not myself because I checked and double checked every setting and I couldn’t find anything I did wrong. I’ve got a email in to the factory rep to see if they’ve had this problem before and what causes it. It’s done this to me a couple of times now. Anyway a few trips through the planer and the grove disappeared and in the end it is still a nice thick board. Actually, after looking at it, 1 1/2” I think is too thick for a board this size. It’s heavy enough as it is.
