This is one of a pair of end tables based on the same design as my earlier side table. I used cherry again, but for the top instead of a breadboard top I used mosaic tiles that my wife made. I also added a shelf, which led me to keep the legs straight instead of tapering them. The finish is Danish oil and wax.

Nice job. The tiles look like an M. C. Escher style.

I like the tiles. How were they made? Custom made ceramic?

Yes, my wife made them in a ceramics class. She really likes the Islamic mosaics in Alhambra and wanted to make something inspired by that style.

This is a very nice table and the tiles give it a unique design. You and your wife make a good team.
Thanks for the post.

I was going to say that they were either M.C. Escheresque, or from the Alhambra or Alcazar. Beautifully made tiles and table.

I gather that Escher was inspired by mosaics like those at Alhambra. Here’s a nice picture of one like our table (although much fancier.)
